My name is Irit Luvaton, and I am a designer and maker with a background in Landscape Architecture, holding a degree from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. After working on large-scale projects, I shifted my creative focus to a more intimate scale, channeling my passion into graphic design and, most notably, jewelry design.
For over two decades, I have been creating distinctive, handcrafted jewelry that blends traditional metals like gold and silver with contemporary materials such as aluminum, wood, plastic, rubber, glass, and gemstones. My work explores the intersection of form, color, and material, resulting in bold yet wearable pieces that reflect personality and individuality without compromising elegance or affordability.
Driven by a desire to move beyond the limitations and rising costs of precious metals, I embraced aluminum as a core material. Its lightweight nature, accessibility, and compatibility with advanced coloring techniques—such as heat sublimation—opened up new avenues for experimentation. I now design and print my own vibrant patterns directly onto the metal, producing collections that are fresh, colorful, and uniquely mine.
My current collection focuses on color-rich, lightweight designs that challenge the outdated perception of colorful jewelry as juvenile or frivolous. Each piece is thoughtfully designed and meticulously crafted by hand in my Jerusalem-based studio, which I have co-run for over 20 years.
